ESL Teaching & Curriculum Development

Teaching English as a Second Language is a special thing to do! It provides students with an opportunity to express themselves fully using the English language, and also provides a beautiful, cross cultural opportunity for learning – for both teacher and student!

ESL Teaching for adults

Whether adults are looking to improve their conversational skills, enhance their written, comprehension or speech skills for an examination or to delve a little deeper into a specific topic, then our sessions are the space to do that. With experience teaching adults ESL online and in person, I bring experience, a friendly attitude and an open and respectful outlook. Let’s learn together and help you reach your goals.

Curriculum Development

As an English Literature & Education Studies BA Honours graduate, an MA Journalism graduate, an experienced journalist and copywriter, and a language teacher, I am passionate about the English language. With this passion and expertise I have planned ESL speech, reading and writing schemes of study for clients worldwide, as well as trained teachers and coaches on curriculum rollouts across language schools. I am experienced in providing valuable programs of learning that aid children and adult’s language development.

Play learning, language sessions for children

I have had the pleasure of teaching children face to face in Nairobi and online in Japan. What I know, is that making learning fun and engaging is the best way for children to DEVELOP!

Feedback & Student Reviews

I have worked with individuals in both Japan and Kenya as an ESL teacher, and it has been a pleasure to teach them and support their language development. All the feedback I receive is greatly appreciated and I am always pleased to hear how our sessions have helped individuals in their daily lives.

Alison was also a great teacher with a very nice personality. I was surprised at how easy it was to understand her lesson notes. I would like to use the lesson notes to learn more about the language and culture and prepare for my trip to England!

— Manami, Japanese adult learner

Alison’s connection with the children was good. While she was here she set up two penpal exchanges with schools in England. One for the younger children and one for the older children. This was a really lovely experience because it will improve the children’s literacy and communication skills.
She patiently helped children in solving problems. She is energetic, flexible and dedicated to her work and has a great motivation to help children.
